Hout Bay Radar Station (Kabonkelkberg)

Camp is just around the corner, and we’re keeping the momentum going with an epic coastal adventure! This week, we’re taking the trail up Karbonkelberg to the historic WWII Radar Station! Expect wide ocean panoramas, a good calf burn on the sandy trail, and plenty of laughs with the crew. Grab your hiking shoes, bring a friend, and meet us at 6:45 AM to gear up and check in, so we can hit the trail at 7:00 AM sharp!

What to Expect

This hike kicks off with a steady, sandy jeep track that gradually increases in incline as we climb out of Hout Bay. Walking on softer sand provides a sneaky workout for your calves early on, but once you clear the lower slopes, the route rewards you with massive panoramic views over Hout Bay harbor, the dramatic backside of The Sentinel, and the turquoise Atlantic crashing far below.
