This is it—the final countdown hike before camp! After tackling Devil's Peak, Hout Bay Radar Station, and Platteklip Gorge, we’re wrapping up our training in style with one of the most stunning, refreshing hidden gems in Stellenbosch: The Second Waterfall (Tweede Waterval) at Jonkershoek Nature Reserve! Think towering mountain amphitheaters, shaded riverside paths, and a crisp, crystal-clear waterfall pool tucked deep in the kloof.

Let’s meet at the main gate/parking area at 6:45 AM so we can grab permits, sign in, and head up the valley together at 7:00 AM sharp!

What to Expect

This hike is the ultimate celebration of all the hard work we’ve put in over the last few weeks! Starting with an easy, scenic cruise along the Jonkershoek valley road surrounded by massive sandstone peaks, the trail eventually narrows as you follow the river deeper into the gorge.
